Bio:

Jill is a Michigan native who recently returned to the mitten state in order to pursue her lifelong passion of gardening and reconnecting people with the natural world. After the acceptance of admission to the Organic Farmer Training Program, Jill packed up camp in Colorado, where she had spent the previous seven years enjoying the beautiful city of Denver and the surrounding Rocky Mountains, and traveled back home to Michigan, where she immersed herself into the life of a farmer and an educator. With the framework to her life’s pursuit in order, Jill passes each day knowing that she is part of an incredible and inspiring movement to simplify the world by re-introducing elements of sustainable and thriving communities and reversing the backwardness of the current food system.

Aside from germinating the seeds, picking the weeds, harvesting, preserving, indulging in and sharing the captured bounties of a farm, Jill finds absolute bliss in canoeing down rivers, getting lost in books, road tripping, and finding hidden treasures. She is very excited for the coming year at the Student Organic Farm and for the arrival of the 2013 OFTP students – the extraordinary future farmers of this world - who will without doubt make the farm complete!
