Hannah Rose
Hannah Rose is a student of the world. She grew up in rural Michigan, in Leelanau County, on the Leelanau Peninsula. She spent her childhood summers in McGregor Bay, Ontario with her grandparents at their summer cottage, perfecting her dive off the dock and picking wild blueberries. Hannah spent four years living in Chicago, studying photography, art, and the city itself. She has since then traveled to such places as Hawaii and Portugal to study organic farming and the various communities of people who spend their life growing food and sharing it. She spent the last summer season working and learning at Meadowlark Farm where her family has been CSA members for the last ten years. Her daily meditation is a walk in the woods with her dog Mortimer and she knows this is one the best things she can do for herself. Hannah Rose knows that there is nothing like an untouched field of snow on a bright sunny day nor is there anything like eating a passion fruit that fell off its vine at your feet. She knows that learning how to grow food not only feeds her body and the bodies of the people she loves, but it keeps her in that every present state of awe, which most people don’t have time to experience. For that, she is infinitely grateful.
