Dan

After five years as an outdoor educator Dan changed careers to organic farming. He is enjoying the shift, and experiences a deeper connection to the cycles of nature because of it. Dan has been the Production Manager at the Student Organic Farm since December 2009 where he manages SOF crop production, supervises the farm crew and teaches OFTP members applied production skills. Before that he farmed in Wisconsin and New York, attended the Michael Fields Agricultural Institute in Wisconsin, and worked on farms in California and Pennsylvania. Originally Dan is from San Diego, CA, but with family from both Peninsulas, he is enjoying getting back to his roots in MI. Dan likes reading, taking pictures, music, hiking, backpacking, bicycling, cooking, gardening, and spending time with his wife, Sarah, and 1-year-old daughter, Willa.
