Thursdays from 11am to 5:30pm this fall the Student Organic Farm will be operating a Campus Farm Stand in front of the auditorium on Farm Lane. Cruise by the Farm Stand and check out a great selection of fresh veggies, flowers, and melons!

We are currently accepting applications for the Organic Farming Certificate Program for the class of 2008. Students in the 2008 class will begin on January 4th for Orientation and begin the program on January 7th.

The program runs for 11 1/2 months, from January through mid-December and is a hands on, practical farm training program. Students learn to manage and run the 10 acre Student Organic Farm as well as take a wide variety of classes. Some of the classes are Organic Farming Principle and Practices, Cut Flowers, Passive Solar Greenhouse Management, Medicinal and Culinary Herbs, Marketing and more.

The farm runs a 48 week CSA and a seasonal farm stand on the Michigan State University campus. We grow a wide diversity of vegetables, flowers, herbs, and some small fruit.

June 2007 - We have launched our new website! We are excited to launch this new site and to make it an interactive place for CSA members to read newsletters and see what is in the share each week, for perspective students to learn about our Certificate Program, for community members to learn about upcoming workshops and for more people to learn what Michigan State is doing with regards to Organic Farming. Enjoy!
